There’s no doubt about it: the Adventure Park at Sandy Spring is a unique, fun birthday party place that will have friends and family talking about it all year long! Whether it’s your 10-year-old and a group of kids from school, or your hard-to-please teen and their pack of friends… or even your partner, who loves to get outdoors and who refuses to grow up!
The Adventure Park at Sandy Spring is conveniently located in Montgomery County, close to Bethesda, Rockville, and Columbia.
Aerial Forest Party
The Aerial Forest is the largest forest climbing park in the nation. With 14 trails, 30+ ziplines, 6 difficulty levels, and almost 200 challenge bridges, there is something for everyone in your party!
Labyrinth Party
The Labyrinth, is a free-standing structure for ages 7 and up that you can rent out for your birthday guests’ exclusive use! This all in one package includes picnic space nearby the Labyrinth.
Axe Throwing Party
Looking for some friendly competition? With digital targets, games like tic-tac-throw, a seating area, and fire pits, Adventure Axes offers the ultimate party experience for beginners and ax-perts alike!

Enjoy exclusive access this two level climbing structure! Great for groups that want to stick together during their climbing experience. The Lab is contained in one area, so it’s easy to snap some pictures from the ground!

Upgrade Your Experience
Want some space to hang out and eat or do presents around a cozy campfire? Reserve the Black Diamond Area to bring your experience to the next level!
- Get a fire pit & picnic tables reserved exclusively for your group
- We provide firewood
- Reserve it for the duration of your visit or just a couple of hours before or after your climb
- 3 spaces available that can hold up to 25 people each

While food is not included in any birthday options, we do have a food truck at the Park! We have snacks, drinks, whole pizzas, burgers, etc.
You’re also welcome to bring in your own food, order pizza delivery, or choose a caterer. There are many pizza places and catering options in the neighboring town of Olney.
We have space available every day we’re open! There is limited availability on the weekends, so we recommend planning 6-8 weeks ahead.
The start time of your reservation is the beginning of your birthday adventure.
For Climbing: We highly encourage parties to arrive 30 minutes before your scheduled start time. For example, if your party begins at 10AM, all participants should arrive by 9:30AM to check in, set up, and get ready!
For Axe Throwing: We encourage parties to arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled start time to check in.
Groups will receive picnic tables free of charge with their reservation! Table reservation are available for the duration of your climb, plus some added time afterwards for cake and snacks.
If you prefer a more private space, opt for the Black Diamond Area add-on! Black Diamond Area is included with Labyrinth parties.
Table space is also available with axe throwing parties right in the throwing area, but the Black Diamond Area is a great option for those wanting additional time before or after to do cake and presents!
Aerial Forest: 5 & 6 year olds MUST climb with an adult (age 18+) at a 1:1 ratio at all times.
Labyrinth: The Labyrinth is only open to ages 7+. If the party is for kids ages 7-11, we ask you have 1 chaperone climber for every 4 kids.
Axe Throwing: Axe throwing is open to ages 10+. Ages 10-17 must be accompanied by at least one adult 18+.
We have limited party availability and we do sell out! We require parties to be booked at least two weeks out, but the sooner you contact us, the more likely you’ll get your desired date and time!
We will provide all of the necessary equipment for climbing, ziplining, and axe throwing. We do highly recommend gloves while climbing. We offer gloves at a discounted rate for parties if you add them to your reservation ahead of time. You’re also welcome to encourage guests to bring their own – leather-palmed gardening gloves or sport gloves (like biking) do the trick. Gloves are not necessary for axe throwing.
Please note: harnesses may not be shared and climbers may not trade out with other climbers.
